To apply for a new OCI card in Australia, you’ll typically need:
Completed online OCI application form (via OCI Services portal)
Two recent passport-size photos (2×2 inches, white background)
Copy of your valid Australian passport
Proof of Indian origin – such as your Indian passport (if held previously) or your parent/grandparent’s Indian passport
Australian Citizenship Certificate
Marriage certificate – if applying as a spouse of an Indian citizen or OCI cardholder
Government Fee: Approx. AUD $452

Processing time for a new OCI card is typically 6 to 8 weeks, but may vary depending on the consulate’s workload, accuracy of your documents, and verification process.
Complete the OCI application form online and upload the required documents on the OCI Services portal.
Print the completed form, sign it, and compile all supporting documents (we help organize everything).
Send your signed application and documents to the designated VFS Global center in Australia.
VFS will verify your documents and forward them to the Indian Consulate for final review and approval.
Once approved, your OCI card will be mailed to your address in Australia.
